The video work documents an attempt to cover one own’s back in black paint without help. It shows just a back and two arms: the back turns form white to black; the arms distribute color through rather unnatural, twisted movements. Their struggling gestures accentuate the limits of our body’s frame and speak in a way about our autonomy as individuals. Does our human figure allow us to reach every part of our back, every part of our body? Do we need others to do so? Does the shape of our body tell about our nature as social beings, about how we live life?
